not to bring up random shit in this thread (though this thread is honestly really random cause prolly like 4-5 people on here know who this guy is whatsoever) but i never understood why dudes go hard for lifting weights. like unless your an athlete or something, isnt it basically just like saying outright "im insecure". if not please explain.

No, actually I'm an avid lifter, personal trainer, and prepping for a show. I just think it's whack when people think they're cool when they go to the gym. I work with a lot of people who always say they're hesitant on going to the gym because of pompous people judging so it's irritating seeing that behavior. That's all.

I wouldn't really call it insecure. Some people just wanna change their image up. Example: dude who died was an avid WoW player, 2 years later he has the body of a fucking god. it shows progression. some people lift weights, some people smoke weed, some people make music. just something to do my ♥♥♥♥♥. view it as a hobby

Pretty much, most of the people I know who actually pretend to care about lifting and hit up BB and /fit/ are insecure teenagers, some actually plan on doing some contests and shit so idk. And all of the older actual bodybuilders I know did so because of insecurity.
