weight is a bit more important but i'd guess around a 157 would be good for all mountain. what size is the board?

I heard its relative to Weight more than height, but i think its a bit of both because ive heard both ways too.

In terms of height i heard it is relatively up to your chin maybe a little more (dont know how many cm that would be..)

Also if your feet are 10+ size a wide board is recommended but if it is 10- size, then you're fine with the regular boards.

board buying advice, as stated early. please don't be one of those kids who buys all the fresh new shit but is tumbling down the hill all frosty we truly hate those kids

height wise you want to pick a board that is between your chin and your nose. not only is length important, width is as well. Width in snowboard terms is called 'waist' you'll want to also look at the size of your feet which will tell you the size of your boot which also determines the size of your bindings as well as the width of your board.

I'm riding 2 set ups - all mountain and free style

Not too familiar with atomic boards. I ride a Lib tech banana with union contact bindings. Can't go wrong with Lib tech. Sickest set up I've ever owned. I got my gear at trusnow.com Definitely good deals on there. Scope it out. Good luck with you snowboard purchases. Don't plan on spending too much since you're just starting off though.

First time I ever snowboard I rented out the equipment.. Came back around on my second trip I bought two boards, Burton Custom V Rocker $279, and Burton X8 $229. A deal I couldn't pass up at the time. Purchase it at Sierrasnowboard.com now formally known as Trusnow.com. Of course this company went down the hole for selling boards 50%-80% off..It was good for me..

If craigslist not helping you out.. Also, check out geartrade.com site for closeout clearence and pre-owned goods.
