adding melo would be cool i guess, but i'd prefer us getting a center that can help out on defense. we've already seen how a big three works out in miami, and amar'e has proven to be an excellent leader. melo, while easily one of the best shooters in the nba, seems to be on a ring chase and doesn't want to commit long term.
knicks already have top 5 offense in the league, and that's with a young team. there's nowhere to go but up in that department. what we need to truly focus on is our defense. the points we've been allowing against the caliber of teams we've gone up against is just downright embarassing.

btw the other thing about melo is, we all know he wants new york over any other team, but we also know the nuggets aren't stupid enough to let him go to free agency since he's made it apparent there's no way he's staying in denver. they're gonna trade him before the end of february and they're gonna want a helluva package for him. who in our lineup would you guys be willing to let go when they're all playing so well and, even more importantly, meshing perfectly with amar'e? that's something we all have to consider.

turiaf, when he actually plays, puts up impressive numbers, especially on defense. gallinari's been great this season and the kid's only 22, he's got so much potential. i can maybe understand trading gallo but turiaf is someone we really need right now.
