It should be Messi. 5-7 games in the summer shouldn't make a big difference. Noone would have brought up Forlan's name if it weren't for the world cup and whilst he has had a great world cup and a good season he hasn't played to anywhere near the level of Messi and to an extent Rooney and Ronaldo. Same goes with Iniesta who only started 20 games in the league this year.
Edit: But it won't pan out that way I'd expect Sneijder to win which wouldn't be too bad but if Forlan/Iniesta are in the top 3 then that's ridiculous.
