for some reason I want them to win tonight. It would be like a big F U to all the analysts who doubted us before the series. Everyone was saying it would be 4-2 or 4-3 and I think if we won tonight it would show our dominance over the whole league.

regardless, what's all this talk about there might not be a laker parade?
anyone heard about this?

^ Yeah I read in the Times that the city might not be able to afford a parade because of all the budget cuts and issues related to that. The idea plan is a parade down Fig that goes from Staples and ends with an epic rally at the Coliseum. Pretty sad we can't afford a $1 million parade; I think it'll happen though just because of the high demand.

Good win, Lakers fans, and congratulations. Phil just surpassed Red Auerbach in titles. Phil is, by far, one of the greatest to ever coach basketball. He's up there.

This win just makes me pretty disappointed, though. I still feel like the Celtics could have made it this far had Garnett not been injured. Sigh, oh well. Like I said earlier, good win.

Celtics would of still got demolished by Orlando, Cleveland, or the Lakers.

This is probably my inner conspiracist speaking, but did anyone else think David Stern seemed irritated as hell when he announced the Lakers as the champions? He paused a lot, hardly made eye contact with the Buss brothers, and stormed off the second he handed the trophy to them.

What? Demolished by Cleveland or Orlando? We took Orl. to 7 games WITHOUT our best player. Orlando pretty much shined in the CLV-ORL series. NH, but seriously dude? I mean, I can understand getting smashed by the Lakers, but Orlando or Cleavage?

When the Magic showed up, we spanked the Celtics

For Cleveland there's the whole homecourt win/loss record thing coming into play
