Spam accounts

Not one to usually complain about things but the amount of spam on the General Fashion Discussion section is too damn high. I wish there was some sort of report feature so mods can take a look at it faster.

Anyways if you guys need more mods, sign me up, id be happy to help.

I've been trying to clean them out, we just got a crazy flood of them out of nowhere. I requested that new members should have to validate their accounts, but I guess that still hasn't been added.

Well something else needs to be done then, because I'm having a hard time keeping up with it. This morning alone I've probably deleted close to 100 new threads since yesterday and banned the accounts associated with them.

You can now mark user as spam in their profile page. 

This will delete all his or her posts and deactivate their account.

Deleted tons of threads/suspended spam accounts this morning. Just happened to be up early and saw it. Would help if we had access to a list of newly created users and could mark as spam that way.

Ka Yue, can you please double check that permanent suspensions are working? I sent a message to Drew last night about it when I noticed that one of the spammers had been permanently banned 5 times by me and Drew and was still able to post. Not sure if it's still an issue when we use the Mark As Spam option, but the permanent suspension seems to be broken.

I will double check permanent suspension.

Please use the mark as spam function at the moment, as it will delete all that user's posts and also suspend him or her. Confirmed it is working.

However those spammer seem still able to register on our forum. I will look into it.

I work on it all the time guys, it's just hard for me to keep up. I've reported the actual issue to the tech team, so hopefully they are able to fix it soon. Sorry that it's like this every morning.

We don't need more mods, we need a system in place that prevents spammers from being able to make accounts endlessly to post their stream sites. Whatever registration method is currently in place isn't working.
