Mentioning users in post difficulties

I try to mention a user in a post with the "at" symbol and the drop down list pops up with possible names. I click the user that I would like to mention and another gets put in instead. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Also if I do not select the user from the drop down list and instead type out their whole username do they still get notified?

Yes, you can type out their whole username rather than scrolling through the list.

Hi there, when you type a name you're typing their screen/display name. When a name is selected it gets replaced by their username/login name.

Hope that clears up the confusion.
