Hey all,

what is everyone's experience and opinion on these two cameras.

i'm looking into getting a slr and these are within my price range.

also, do you recommend purchasing them with the lens kit or just body only?

Thanks

first off i know nothing about the xsi.. but i do know the d60 has no focus motor.. which means you need to buy expensive lenses.. if you want that feature (which most do). if possible i would step up a class and you will be happy you did in the future. all my friends are getting rid of their d60s due to lack of motor.. and are moving do d70s, 80s, or 90s

also do you already have lenses?? if not i would probably get your camera with the kits lens.

but i know nothing

I use an xsi. Its dope. D60 comes with a better lens though in the kit. Xsi has a better body though.

Get the D40 over the D60 if you want to go with Nikon. They're virtually the same camera. Personally I would go with the XSi.
