I love clarks wallabees, but if you want a desert boot that IMO fits better and is more comfortable than the Clarks DB, check J. Crew's desert boot. The last pair I had lasted me almost 4 years, and I STILL wear them every now and then.

A pencil eraser works amazingly well, then vinegar if there's anything left. I use a tooth brush after cleaning and rub in a circular motion to get back that suade texture.

You can use a hair brush, preferably made of at least horses hair. That works just as good, but you should definitely get a real cleaner.

I would say that the be positive by slamjam black suede chukkas are THE PERFECT cross between a desert boot and a sneaker. The be positive loafer is nice too, although it seems to have the same concept as the fred perry x raf simmons loafer. In second would be a tie between The Generic man and Common Projects. And last but not least although it's not a cup sole it's a also a tie between Redwing and Docmartens for the white vibram soles......aight! peace!cool

Another good one is the pointer cyril, although I am particularly looking for a black desert boot with a white sneaker sole (preferably a white cup sole) and pointer only makes one in a navy which looks AWESOME. And honestly I prefer the Common projects Safari boot over the Common Projects Desert Boot or the Generic Man Desert Boot. The Safari boot is similar to the Desert Boot but with a twist it adds personality. Although the price point is too steep IMO. I'd rather buy 3 pairs of well over decent shoes than 1, but some people don't see it that way. Some people see it as quality of quantity, and I respect that but sometimes the 3 shoes you can buy can be over average quality or pretty damn near close to that of CP's or GM's and may lack some craftsmanship. But, it all depends on the person I guess.....cool
