I'm no specialist, but aside from the regional dominance of NYC, I believe the major difference is that WE (hip hop) was dictating what hip hop was, whereas NOW it seems the suits are the ones telling US what hip hop is.

For years I've been saying, "it's all hip hop...some it good some it bad" But now I'm like, nah, commercial rap is hip hop's slutty sister....she looks like hip hop...sounds similar...but she doesn't FEEL like hip hop.

Real hip hop is the stuff that WE say it is. And that's what made it beautiful before.

Taken way to seriously. I just wish that kids would actually learn how to both critique AND accept criticism...and not get upset when a person doesn't WANT your criticism. The wdywt should be to exchange ideas..not to get eprops or get called out for swagger jacking, or hating on someone for the money they spend....but that all stems from the e props mentality...it should be a forum to exchange ideas...but that's too much to ask from a bunch of pot head bitter for no reason teenagers. so...i'll only come on here when I'm insomniac or bored with nothing left to do.

I disagree. I believe that you can appreciate a sub culture without directly participating in it.

How about poor kids who love sneakers, know every make and model, but can't afford to cop?

What about kids who love hip hop but don't rap, b boy, write, or spin?

What about cats who don't skate cuz they have no balance to save their lives, but they keep up with the culture out of the love of it?


Dudes take their SUB cultures way too serious. I guess calling everyone a poser boosts your self esteem.

there is NOWHERE near enough gold to supply the worlds economy. second of all gold is not evenely distributed some countries can just pull it out of the ground others can't. third of all it can be so easily smuggled with such drastic results on the economy.

idk gold sounds good in theory but I don't think itll work.
