Prolly headin to CSULB. Does anybody know if it's a fun school? Or what it's like there? Also is it considered a highly prestigious school?

If affirmative action is still in effect, then why are Blacks and Latinos so underrepresented in California schools? I can kinda understand how Blacks aren't because they don't make up a large percent of California in general, but Latinos are almost half of what this state is.

Do some research. AA rules are different in different states. UCs in Cal haven't used AA after Proposition 209 passed in 1996. That's why it's like 40% Asian in all the UCs and less for Latinos/Blacks.

Might be a little late. But I go to the UW right now and it's on EVERY level better than WSU. I'm not being bias at all. Better academics, better research programs, better job prospects (more recruits come to UW than WSU and one's that are worth anything), better athletics (if that means anything to you), better location, better culture, smarter people (maybe a little bias). And every program is ranked better at UW than WSU (except like veterinarian and some fire fighter program BS). I know it's way past May 1st, but I hope you chose the UW.

I'm currently a junior in hs..What're my chances of me getting into schools like UCSD, UCLA, Berkley assuming I stay at this rate..

Currently have like a unweighted 3.83 GPA and a weighted GPA of 4.16... played one sport every year (varsity since sophomore year). 100 hours of community service so far, and I also have 100 hours of work experience hours. And i'm in a couple of clubs (National honor society and this cultural club)

^chances are good, make sure you dont completely fuck yourself on SATs or ACT

I look how you wanna look, I fuck like you wanna fuck, I am smart, capable and most importantly, I am free in all the ways you are not.

you dont need 2200+ for UC's if you do well in high school classes (AP and honors) and have significant extracurricular activities.

lol you could get into most UCs except for maybe UCSD, UCB, and UCLA with over 2000. could get into all CSUs with over 2000. depends on your gpa as well but if you get somewhere in the 1800-2000 you should be able to get into most of those schools.

Yeah I chose UW. I just didn't feel right passing up the offer to my dream school/the better school. Feeling like I made the right call. No it's just time to start rushing.

Question regarding community service/volunteer work. Does it look better to help out a bunch of different charities/organizations or consistently focus on one in particular?

Both are equally good. Focusing on one will show dedication. Doing many community service/volunteer work at different organization will show you are very involved.

and dude it's out of 6 so you got a perfect score, why would you need to be bailed out?
