Where are you at? in in the chicago suburbs, i assume you are too?
I got fucked over when i applied to u of i, if you apply to aces and transfer out you can get in semi easily. I instead decided to apply to business and didnt get in because of the much higher standards.

Oh nevermind, didnt look at location.

Im going to OSU and i was basicly in the same situation 3.3 and a 31, osu gives about 10g's if you have above a 28 and are out of state. I live in Illinois and i heard its very hard out of state, with those numbers maybe you could get into texas, i regret not applying. But, I dont think they give money unless you have better stats. Senior year gpa means nothing, so dont stress it, and just make sure you get better than like a 3.0. Good luck

Thanks a ton man. I think I'm going to apply to Ohio State. I would love to go to Oregon though, and I liked Michigan State a bunch. I wish I had better numbers to get into UIUC, but im pretty sure I have no chance.

i'll tell you this, depending on what you want to go into, you can find other schools that mich. state & OSU.
I live in Ann Arbor & am going to U of M so I guess I'm biased, but i have always thought that michigan state is overrated. Its huge & overpopulated in not a very nice surrounding area, oh yeah, its an aggy school (again, this depends on your area).

OSU means Columbus, which is really really fun if you love getting trashed with a bunch of people from Ohio |0 & the reputation of your school actually does matter to some extent.

& if you really want to go where you want: community service, & leadership positions on your application will put you over the edge.

I looked into it and osu actually doesn't have advertising. I went on a visit to Michigan State and liked it a lot and the atmosphere was fine with me, I am content with a big school and I'm not from Michigan so I wouldn't be with a bunch of people from high school. Michigan state also has a top advertising dept

If you're in california research IGETC,TAG, and TAP. It really depends on which one you wanna go to.

^To add to that, UCSD raised their TAG gpa to 3.5 so if you don't do TAG you should prob get your gpa up to 3.7-3.8 for them too.

It's getting harder to get into UC every year. If you want to go to UCLA, UCB or UCSD you will need something relatively close to a 4.0. CC is pretty easy though. You should be able to get As in every class if you try. If you cant do it in CC, dont even think about going to UC.

Yeah i'm following the IGETC but does acceptance also rely on extra curricular activities too?

It'll most likely help. I didn't do any ECs, but I'm sure it'll help your chances.
