anyone here get into any UC's with low GPA's (3.5 or lower) but with a high SAT score or good extracurriculars? My grades are pretty shitty but i've got a solid art portfolio and about to break 2000 on the SAT's soon. Just wondering what my chances are of still being able to get into a UC

Can anyone clarify what the difference between different programs are?.. other than you just have the program name on your school account?
Like if I get into a university's general studies program would I be able to take the same courses as a student in environmental science(granted I took the pre-requisites at a community college)?

Got accepted to Penn St, Drexel, UMD College Park, UVA. Right now it's pretty much between UVA and UMCP but I'm probably going to go to cp since it's my state school (cheaper, love the school already) plus it has a better engineering program which is what I am majoring in.

got into ucsb(uc santa barbara) and cal state northridge
which schools are better academically and overall experience, The only thing turning me off from sb is that it is far away from LA and any other major cities.

UCSB for sure. Its better area, better student body, better academics, better reputation, better social life, hotter girls and better athletics.
1) you should always go away for college. staying near home is gay. you learn more than your major when you go away for school.
2) have you been to ucsb or heard about it's reputation? you wont give a FUCK about LA after being there for a week as long as you aren't a nerd/loner.
SB is popping as shit. Dope parties, fucking beautiful city, and it's only like 1 1/2 hours from LA.

the thing is im a transfer student so i'll be a junior going there, is it worth it to start fresh at a new school such as ucsb? i mean it is better academically, party wise etc.

I went to both of those CSUs haha. DH is a fucking joke. I felt like a genius in class. I'm only average at sfsu
PM is the best you can do for sfsu. If you're in dorm age I'd really check that out for a year. PM is dope though. The towers go OFF on weekends.
The only people who say that are commuters or loners. There's a bunch of events in the dorm village and we had like 4 dances and concerts and stuff this semester. Also, people chill in the dorm village all night and the library is open 24 hours so nigs order pizza and study there and stuff. It's what you make of it. You need to make friends with people who live in the dorms because the dorms are fun as long as you don't really live there. When you walk through the halls you hear people playing music and you can start a conversation about the new lil wayne mixtape or whatever. Good times.
