^^bolt killed the 100m, 80 percent through the race he was slowing down and and pumping his chest, and for the 8 gold medals, if bolt ran 8 times he would have eight aswell, so to tell the truth i think bolt is a better athlete because no one came even close, while phelps barley won some(not taking away anything from him)

The race where Bolt did the chest pump/raise his hands BEFORE the race was even over made me lose all respect for him. Sure, he's fast but it's the Olympics and you're supposed to come off as some sort of role model not as an egotistical jerk who could have done even better if had not done that.

Both Phelps and Bolt are beasts in their respective sports. The way I see it, Phelps had the best training, coaches and equipment that money could buy. Bolt on the other hand never had that luxury, he had to get himself on the international stage before he could even be at Phelp's level. They both had the backing of their respective countries but Jamaica is no where near America in terms money spent on athletes. It is really tough to call and I would side with Bolt, but Phelps did dominate to win 8 Gold Medals, he also swam 17 times to get them.

both are awesome athletes, but Phelps is the man plus swimming takes alot more training cuz any nig can run, but I like Bolt's name & yeah he totally lost alot of respect from ppl at the end of that race by bragging.

Phelps competed in 4 different strokes. Bolt is good at running. In my book i know which one is harder.

Bolt. He's just as dominant as Phelps (mark my words, he'll repeat his performances here and then some come the London Olympics) and he wins with swag. Then again, I'm sick to death of the Phelps media blitz so I guess that part of me is talking.

Also, those of you saying swimming is harder than running haven't done much of the latter on a high level apparently.
