go to a junior college and transfer... that's what i'm doing. my tuition is $20/unit and after two years all of my units fully transfer to all CSUs and most UCs, can't go wrong with that


i get free tuition for all state colleges in the state of california because of my parents, i reallllly dont want to go to a JC

t.dot.o, i have a lot of family in michigan (i live in cali), and if they wanna stay instate, they either go to 1st choice university of michigan or 2nd choice wayne state, so it must be decent.

ridiculously important. most schools UC status or lower basically only look at SAT and gpa (in my experience). top private and ivy league schools look less at SAT scores, but to be competitive you need 2100+ (and to get in with that score you need incredible EC's or need to be a minority).

probably any CSU and a lot of the UCs depending on your SAT scores

collegeboard.com is a good place to start looking

edit: I'm applying this year for a transfer from modesto junior college to sfsu for fall of '09. hopefully I get in... I had like a 3.5 gpa in high school, have a 3.2 right now and got a 29 on the ACT. if not, I'm off to chico

Well, that's what I hear. So I'm busting nuts this year. My freshman year, surprisingly, was my most successful year, grade-wise (not bitch-wise, i gat no gamez sad).

No, they look at your whole high-school career. If you said they were atrocious freshman year, but you picked up the slack and got great grades this year (and keep on improving), that shows colleges that you're willing to work and that you're actually trying. If it's good freshman year, but it gets worse, it shows that you slack off and makes them think you're not going to try.

thats how exactly it is, im improving but yet my grades were so bad freshman year this year (junior year) that my honor roll grades from this year only brought my gpa to a 2.1

so i think its impossible for me to get into a 4year oh well, i regret alot of things i did in hs

Wow, that's a lot lower than I expected. You seriously have to do so much fricking better next year just to get into a decent college/university. At least try to volunteer a lot over the summer to make up for it, at least. And when you apply to universities, after you received confirmation that they have gotten your application, call them up (e-mail them or write a letter) and tell them a reason why you did really bad (like you had a death in your family, so it really bothered you that whole year; but make sure it's believable and that you kind of have proof to back it up).

im a junior now, college applications start in october-nov. no matter what i do they wont see my grades

hopefully this semesters grades will boost mygpa up. report cards are coming in weeks
