that shit is gonna be difficult. happened to people at the school i went to. youll have to catch the shuttle/bus to your college. its just a big hassle. good luck

This sh*t happened to me back in 99. They had temp housing which had classrooms right down the hall from us. Wasn't so bad at all. Rooms were pretty big and not to many people on the floor, parties we had were pretty dope. The only downside to it all were the classes in the morning.

It might be a hassle to walk 4 or 5 blocks every time I have to go to class or get something to eat at the cafeteria though. Even though the whole floor will be full of freshman, I can't help but feel that I'll be missing out on the freshman experience. I guess I gave up on that anyway once I decided to go to a school in a city, without a campus.

that happened to some people i knew that went to unr several years ago...they had to say at the university inn (reno, nv) for a while (maybe a semester), i believe.

talk to your housing administrator. make a deal witht hem, like to rent an apartment for you. most of the time they'll do it, unless ur a freshman.

I'm probably not gonna get into dorms because I'm transferring in spring. Living in a hotel sounds cool. I'm gonna try that.

Well... You probably did. I know in Oregon, the only urban college is full of weirdos, scenesters, foreigners and old people...

But back on subject, its the people, not the facility. As long as 40 college coeds live within earshot of eachother, the milieu will be rad. Hotels could be way cool. You may have less supervision...

Also, what kind of school are you going to? If its art school (these are usually in cities), then you DEFINITELY won't be having a "college" experience.
