Rastas didn't start locks so i don't see why you have to be Rastafarian to rock them.

It is more than locks, way more than that, I'm a rastafarian I'm getting my locks when I'm 23 next year. I hate fashion locks.

nazis didnt invent the swastika either... but after they made it their own it took on a new meaning.

since rastas are christians, probably... tho if they are true rastas they would only be wearing an ethiopian coptic cross

when it comes down to it.

dreadlocks still came from african americans who couldnt take care of their hair on the slave ships and their hair would lock by itself.

so f that rhasta stuff being originators or the symbol for it

actually, it comes from not combing your hair... thats it. ive seen dogs with dreads. before we invented combs everyone had dreads. thing is, if it wasnt for rasta it would still be only homless people with dreads... and some african tribes that grown them for different purposes.

dreadlocks didn't come from no african americans, african americans saw the jamaicans and they loved it and the jamaicans(rastafarians) got it from africa and from what they interpreted from the bible and all that...i'll tell you this though african americans where way down the line when it comes to dreadlocks

no cheep is right, 2 years ago i tried to grow them over the summer and the key is to basically not take care of your hair at all, definatly no combing, no hair washing , but if you do do a shitty half-assed job at it, and try to get it greasy by sweating more than usual and that should about do it.

yeah you let it just grow natural or guide it so it'll grow uniform but all you do is not wash or comb your hair

Real talk. My last dog (RIP) had dreads but only because we forgot to wash her for a while. She looked kind of dope.

My "homeboys" no, I don't really support anyone doing that neither. Cute though.

Random fact, dreadlocks are a symbolic representation of the lion.

lol you guys are thinking way to much into this. And whats with the term "fashion dreads" being tossed around. Sure theres some fake ass losers that rock em and havent even heard of rastas, or thing of that sort but when it boils down its just a hair style.

i washed my hair every day when i was growing my locks... not washing is not cool. all i did is not comb or cut my hair for about a year and a half, and they just started one day. i always kept it real clean tho... got that tip from an old rastawoman i used to buy soap from
