yea thats mine. its by a guy named jake shalhoub in vegas, hes only been tattooing for 4 years but is showing some maaaddd potential. hes doing my other arm and the wind bars on this one next weekend.

no hate, but all three are poorly executed.

@Dead Pool I was thinkin of gettin that bernini angel piece too. It was either that one or the angel with the lance. On average how much would you thin to get it done probably gettin on my upper arm and who would you recommend if you know any around the bay area.

I can't really give you an estimate. You can pay $500 for a mediocre job or pay a couple g's for a top finish. I paid around $2000 for mine. I don't have any recommendations in the bay area. If you can make a trip to LA, definitely hit up the boys at lowrider studios. Jun, Jose, and Klown are all top tier artists. Jun and Jose are usually booked for a year+, but you should be able to get a session with Klown within 2-3 months. Expect to shell out at least $2000 if you book with them, though.

Deadpool who did your Bernini piece?

+1 on Klown, i flew down to LA last year to get some work done by him. Really cool and chill guy and his work is definitely under appreciated. Got started on a leg sleeve and got the front on my lower leg blasted, I'm gonna fly in again next month to finish back of my leg. Klown always tries to accomodate ppl that are flying in to get work done, real stand up guy.
Klown's black and gray work does have a real jailhouse influence, its real soft and and blends into the skin. Recently i've been looking at work from ppl like steve soto and fernie and really like how there work is darker and... grittier? might get one of them to do my other leg

Does anybody know the proper "guest-spot" tattooer etiquette? Like, a popular artist traveling around hitting various cities and making appointments in them. By "etiquette" I mean, what is the preferred maximum size of the tattoo? Because they obviously won't have time to do a half sleeve or anything.

I don't know the extent of trip, or how long the artist will be in town, but I'm curious if there's a standard for size.

- thanks

EDIT: oh, and by the way... would it be welcome by a majority of the 'elite' tattooers if you just say something like "the placement is _______, and as for what I want, just freestyle whatever you'd like in *insert color scheme here*"? Always been curious.

compiled some of my favorite ink in MMA (contrary to popular belief, there are some dudes with dope shit and no tribal haha). thread bump too.

Dan Hardy (Sleeve artist: Sung Song, Upper Left Arm piece: Tim Hendricks)

Thiago Alves (Sleeve artist: Ami James, also blended in an old tattoo of a pitbull that was on his upper-arm)

Kid Yamamoto: Left arm is japanese sleeve, with a traditional americana panther on the forearm. Upper right arm is a bio-mechanical piece. Chest lettering was done the old school way of tapping the needle. His back has some sort've rose-type piece (can never find decent pics of it).

Cosmo Alexandre

Thiago Silva

might add more. just did this off the top of my head.

I think at least 5 HB users have that exact same Bernini angel tattoo now.

No hate, just something I've noticed.

It's a good piece of artwork, and it's a very technical tattoo.

I just prefer original artwork, for me personally, especially seeing that so many people end up getting the same thing done. I've been wanting to get a specific tattoo for about 2 years now. I came up with the design for it and have re-done it 30 or so times. I just have no money to get it done by a quality artist.
