U just explained the meanings, he is talking about the actually look of the masks.. And they have a look to where u might get them mixed up or not be able to tell which is which.. But if u look at them together, u can see that they have different details.. Also i have heard people getting the wrong masks cause they get em mixed and go to artist who dont know japanese art..

well as far as I've understood there is more than one Oni, for example there is Ikazuchi and then there is Fudo, they are both Oni but different individual entities. Oni being an umbrella term as demon is in western culture. I've been doing research on japanese mythology and symbolism in for a couple years in preparation for my tattoos

Yeah but he asked how can u tell the difference between a Hannya mask and a oni mask.. U just explained the different meanings of them not how u can tell them apart by look which i was saying to u.. I wasnt correcting what u said, i was just saying he was looking for how do u tell them apart..

Artist is a cousin's buddy. And yeah I feel the same about it looking a bit cleaner in the outline than when the shading and coloring came in but I got two more sessions to go so can't really tell yet. His finished works look good so I'm not worried or anything.

Thinking about getting this Jeremy Fish drawing from a Aesop Rock/Jeremy Fish short story/vinyl/picture book when I have the money. Maybe with the quote "How Alive? Too alive." to go with it.

Produced this video recently for 3sixteen... it documents Invisible NYC, a shop across the street from Self Edge NY. I've gotten work done there and built a friendship with them, so we decided to include them in this video series we were working on.
