i'm pretty sure you stick the taper in then slide an actual earring on the end of the taper and in to the ear then take the taper out. you can wear them as earrings but it'd probably be a pain

depends on the kind of taper....

for example, tapers like mine are meant to be worn

a regular taper is usually just a little curved piece of metal thats fatter on one ened whereas something like i have is more of a design...idk how to explain it

so would these be used to put in the earring instead of using it as an actual earring?

no one really wears those things...just use it to make the hole bigger and get an earring in that gauge and pop it in

just search your size earring you need on ebay and buy whatever you like

i didnt wait more than a couple weeks to go up sizes...a few days at most when i was in the smaller sizes

gauges are gay, but if you really want to do it, instead of using tapers but use weights.

weights are baaaad for stretching..puts more pressure on the bottom of your lobe so in the long run your ear is gonna look uneven and its easier to rip if you go big enough..

truth, I had weights and it wasn't worth it for stretching, but it did look fucking sweet.

tapers are bad too, just gauge up with the next size, when they slide in easy enough. tapers can cause blow outs super easy. razz

i dont get how tapers can cause blow outs at all. If you're taking all the precautions you'll be fine. I put mine in and they didnt hurt at all. if you're going to be a tool and have a 16g and try and stuff in a 8g taper then you will obvoiusly fuck your ears up.

ahhhhh, i see. thanks a lot haha. I talked to a couple of my friends that have their ears gauged, and they dont use tapers or anything. I guess its a better idea to use it though.

i've been wearing the tapers since 14g and right now at 10g. it isn't really a problem since they're steel and don't weigh a lot so they don't fuck up the hole, but i ordered some eyelets for 8g and down ./

so basically any earring is alright as long as they dont weigh a lot?

yeah, and if the weight is distributed evenly. also acrylic for long-term jewelry that you wear a lot = no because it reacts with your skin and releases toxins. so get shit like steel, stone, wood, glass etc. walrus penis bone

^ damn! too bad penises dont have bones. LOL aight i see. So acryllic is alright as long as its not long term. So is it neccessary to use tapers to put new earings on? Fuck, cause its going to be pretty pricy if i have to buy new tapers everytime i want to go up a size, and never use them again. Same with buying earrings, if im never going to wear them again.

And what do you mean by "if the weight is distributed evenly" If i bought a pair of earrings, wouldn't it be the same? I also have 2 piecings on my lobe for my left ear and one on my right. Is that alright? Even though im stretching only one of my lefts and the only one of my right?

nah not really. if you look a bit on ebay you can probably find people selling ranges of tapers (like 14g to 00g) and sometimes throwing in single flare eyelets as well, and it costs just around 40-50 bucks. unless you're like 12 years old you should be able to afford that.

most of the stuff you're going to buy on sites like bodyartforms, onetribe etc are going to be pretty simple and you should be able to wear them for long periods at a time. I think you should be okay with the two piercings on the left, just make sure to massage them with oil every couple of days after stretching so you thicken your lobes. i'd ask someone else though, like a piercist or something.

also;

penis bone is legit. walruses have them and bodyartforms was selling penis plugs a while back lul .
