That kid in PA got me shook cause I really don't understand.

A gun and 24 people I understand, but a knife? Like, did the first person not scream or what?

hallways after school and in between classes are packed with people im pretty sure no one died so the kid probably just like went down the hall and nicked people really fast before people could realize they were bleeding and he was doing it.

Nah, there were guys jumping in front of girls to protect the girls, so they obviously saw him. I mean, a dude was hospitalized after this.

Bullying and depression is fucked up, unfortunately it causes some kids to go off the deep end and commits heinous crimes such as these.

Fuck yo feelings.

This kid wasn't bullied though. The news said he wasn't a loner.

The first reports of it actually said that most kids were unaware of what was going on, the hall was slightly crowded and several kids just started to feel a pain and looked down and they were bleeding.

I actually found out this morning one of my friends who I go to Pitt with, his younger brother attends that high school, but wasn't near the actual assault, luckily enough.

In regards to bullying, I think we should all review one of my favorite songs from south park:

I think people pointed out all the reason :
> Crowded Hallway (lots of targets around)
> He randomly jabbed at people and moved on before anyone realized they got :
   * injured
   * injury was due to being stabbed
   * Who stabbed them
   * Could warn others in proximity to them
> Also he was progressing away from that

Once someone puts all this together and realized who did it.. Notifying others and then finding someone or a group of people w/ courage to disable the guy ... I mean.. most people are thinking .. fuck this shit .. i'd have a better chance running. Most people aren't trying to be heroes.

As for why? Dunno man.. sometimes life just fucks people in the head ... Alot of the mass violence cases came from people on meds. And most of these meds have significant side effects like :
* Increased suicidal thoughts
* Tendency to violence..
Try fighting the pharmaceutical companies and their lobbyist in Washington.. Good luck

Shit like this is gonna happen from time to time and individuals should be dealt with accordingly. Being stupid and making huge broad policies due to stuff like this is stupid generally and often times doesn't address the root :
> Alot  random mass violence events are conducting by individuals on medications that make them more predisposed to such things and are not properly supervised and bath societal health.

What they decide to use as a tool in executing their wishes is not the root problem. It's what drives people to in the first place.

So, in America, tell me what system is supposed to addresses that? Society ... and there you go..
And what's American society like?

Thus why you see less of this stupid shit in other parts of the world. That society has better mental health and structure so that people like this get 'real' help and supervision. Here profiteers, politics, and bureaucracy dominant how policies and social order is set.

humans are pretty fleshy beings, stabbing 10 in a few seconds isn't difficult if high schools are as crowded as i remember.. Also, puncture wounds dont immediately feel painful like blunt trauma or burns do. and who there was really skilled enough to stop a crazy dude with a knife, lets be honest

I work with a few people who have kids in Franklin Regional, but none in high school

Do you have proof of that? I don't necessarily disagree, but there's a lot of violence in the world and I haven't seen any factual evidence of this. Might just seem like it happens here a lot because of how our media covers things

Guns have made people forget how effective a knife is against unarmed people. It's a hard, sharp instrument. People are soft. If you're getting stabbed your only reasonable option is to escape. You can't block it with a forearm because that's flesh too. You can try to fight him, but he has a knife.
