Just got back from an Art Walk and I feel amazing. Nothing like seeing pure talent being displayed differently all in one place. It was also great to see all types of people unite and cherish these rare pieces in peace. Every time I leave these gatherings I feel so relieved man. It's truly a beautiful thing. I hope y'all also had a great night. Stay positive my friends...

Sounds really cool actually, I've been to a few Art Walks in Philly, and on a nice day, when everyone is out, it can be a really cool experience.

Walked outside and looked up at the sky. Was thankful to be alive and felt bad for all the people who couldn't make it to see this day.

Damn, I'm just chilling right now, listening to some music, with the window open, it's raining. I got my fan going too, the white noise mixed with the pitter patter of the rain is really calming. I have a glass of ice cold water next to me, and of course my dog sleeping sprawled out to the right of me.

I usually live for the future, but in moments like these, I enjoy living in the present, right now, this moment is all that matters to me, and it's a great feeling. Hope everyone is doing well.

HB help me out with some good positivity advice, one of my good friends is watching her father slowly perish from cancer. I am so sorry to bring this negative burden upon the thread, but I care about this family so much, and there is so much genuine positivity in this thread, I was hoping somebody might have some appropriate wisdom I can either use to be helpful or pass on in the spirit of comfort and love.

Kbos,

I'm sorry to hear that you and your friend has to deal with this, I too have had to deal with the loss of a parent, and it's heart breaking, and you wish you could have been the one, not them, not now. Your friend should spend as much time as she can with her father. And you spend as much as you can with them.

I recall my grandfather passing and I spent the last few weeks with him before he passed, it was almost eerie how I visited him the last night and he passed, just a few hours later in the morning. Like he wanted to see me one more time before he was ready to let go, you know?

We all have to deal with death, it really can't be avoided, and it's angering, and it saddening, and will break you. But you need to look back at when your love one has passed and remember those last few weeks, because I can honestly tell you, you will never forget them. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your friends father, and her Kbos

I appreciate your response. This is the inevitable cycle of life. Over all, the process is indeed very positive, but in life there is inevitable light and inevitable darkness, this is the hard part. The most positive thing I can do is be supportive but keep myself from taking on the burden of that pain, create less pain not mores what imsayin.

just be there for the fam, that little thing really does help. as a person who's had experience with that terrible disease before, positivity from other people really kept me pushing.

God Bless to you and your friend's fam

Kbos, make sure you support them, the small things really help, like sending flowers and stuff. Let them know you support them mentally. I've heard from multiple cancer patients that its the little things that get them through the day. Stay strong fam.

The past 8 years I've been dealing with depression and recently decided in taking steps to getting better. I've decided to go into therapy sessions for it and I'm looking forward to "fixing myself" for lack of a better term.

I've been through a lot of situations in life that were life and death type situations since I was a kid. Somehow, I'm still here. I don't believe in God or any religion really outside of aspects of Buddhism but sometimes I think that, maybe, I'm destined for greater things. I don't know what but maybe I'm meant to help people and better the world or flip the screwed up things upside down and have people question things. I'm not sure. But there are moments where I can feel myself being pulled towards bigger things. Things much bigger than myself. And while I'm depressed and sometimes don't see the point in living I'm hopeful in seeing what those things are and who the people are I'll share them with.
