Exactly. Murder is a one and done. One person experienced being the victim and it was over. They didn't have to live with the experience nor does the family. They lost a family member but, more than likely, didn't witness the actual event. Rape is an experience that haunts you for life and can be triggered by someone touching your shoulder. It's even more heinous IMO. Imagine having to cope with the fact you were raped and on top of the regular bullshit life throws at you.The craziest part is the fact that i live in the same school district as Saratoga high school. Shit has been everywhere lately. super depressingI'm sure you guys remember the Pheobe Prince suicide about 4 years ago. Irish girl who came here to live with extended family, got wrapped up in some petty bullshit and was bullied for dating a guy and killed herself. I know what you mean about it being depressing. That happened in my part of the country and my school, which wasn't THAT close to that school where Pheobe killed herself, had counseling about her death because we had a lot of people who knew her. It is sad man.
It's sad because people think shit like this is okay to do. I said in the rape culture thread before but I'll say it again; let some kids try this shit if I have a daughter and see if it's not me going to prison instead of them. Rape IS as heinous as murder.
Not to mention most rapists only get 1 to 5 years and are back out on the streets.
