Anyone here feel comfortable with John MIlton's Paradise Lost? If yes and you're willing to read a quick rough essay on Satan's heroism and help me out, PM me and I'll send mine over.

Thanks

I had to write a 10 page paper about Satan being perceived as a hero in that book, it was a huge pain in the ass. I don't have it anymore or I'd send it to you.

I mean I find it to be an interesting topic but I can't imagine 10 pages of it. Mines 4 lol.

The text itself doesn't promote the idea of satan being a hero. It's simply his story being told, and a common exercise in English classrooms is to prove whether Satan is a hero by definition or not. You have to remember when reading this that Satan is just a fallen rebellious angel and nothing more. It's a really great read though, I reccomend it to anyone.

@jaded did you happen to use Campbell's The Hero With A Thousand Faces when writing your paper?

This book was on our bookshelf the whole time growing up, then when I went to go pick it up, I opened it and it was one of those hollowed out books. No treasure inside though.

No, unfortunately. I just never had a copy of it, and I haven't needed to go to the library in years. I could easily get it off Amazon or something, but I guess I just didn't put it that high on my list. Now though, I'll make it a goal to have it read sometime this year.
