While The Lavish World really seems entertaining and fun for most of the time,
we do have our serious and critical side. Surely, this might seem dull
and nerdy, but there are moments for entertainment and moments where I
myself, Yoeri K. Jonker, have to speak my mind. This is one of those.
As
you can see above, we have a woman and their first real icon: Barbie.
Now Barbie is known for her beautiful Goldie Locks-esque hair and her
beautiful, perfect figure (at least for girls, for guys go here).
Drawing the lines on a woman, who's body looks natural and beautiful by
any means, the photographer and conceptualizer shows that
the ideology of Mattel's most popular product and role model to various
girls is unrealistic and might even be dangerous for kids who see
Barbie's figure as a goal to achieve.
