I'm from socal and not to sound racist or elitist , but it was mainly something black people did or people that lived in lower income - low class societies.

The only people that found it cool were black kids and Filipino's that thought they were all hood.

source: went to cal state fullerton and long beach and the only college kids that jerked were either african american, Filipino, and some Cambodians.

its so funny lookin at all these dances tho cause looking back theyre all so funny that we let these things become trends. now in retrospect its so ewww. anyone could crip walk or jerk or dance any kinda style if they wanted to. its just when those things blew up, the exclusiveness of certain kids knowing the art made them all hot. we're all really such hipsters and hypebeasts deep down inside. cause if you havent noticed, we all hate and love these movements together. basically our boredom is what destroys all of these arts. we liked em at first for a reason, be honest with yourself rookies.
