Tried it once. It was a random ass encounter on Omegle. We talked, Skyped, called each other. Dated for a few months but she got dumb about stupid shit and it was cut off from there.

I know people who have had a really good experience and others with a shitty one. Just gotta make sure you see them 100% on Skype or whatever before making the jump in my opinion. None of that "I'll just send you a photo" bullshit like you see on Catfish.

I know people who met on the internet and ended up being married.

You meet people where you socialize. Common interests bring people together. If two people click on a message board, why not try things out? The internet has changed the way we socialize and meet people. I don't think it's a big deal where you meet. Just how well do you work together.

I would say that you'll find more success off a message board or social network than a dating site though.
