a teacher always told me to go one up than the people working in there.
if they're wearing casual, wear a shirt and tie
if they're wearing shirt & tie, wear a suit
etc
if i was you i'd drive down there and see. maybe take a look around at how they usually go about while on the joba teacher always told me to go one up than the people working in there.

... to a Food Catering business at a local University (UMD).... Keep in mind I have ZERO experience on catering so what should I expect if I get the job? Also, whata should I wear? Im planning on some khakis and an oxford...wear formal clothes. Keep it simple, solid color tie, either a blue or white dress shirt. No oxford shirts. If you want to wear a suit keep it solid also. And most important do not wear square toe shoes
Anyone ever catered before?
say my name. fannnn...dannnnnn.....gooooo
crap.... I dont have a suit/slacks/dress shoes/etc...walmart, mens warehouse, even a thift store should have the stuff you need. Not saying you got to spend $$$ to look the part.If you go the goodwill you can get a suit, tie, and slacks all for under maybe $30-45. Walmart sells dress shoes under $20. Then just go to a tailor and get it fitted on you. I would buy it regardless cause you never know when you might need a suit.
Well I do, but its not with me at the moment and theres no way i'll have enough time to get them.
Any other options? Im thinkin of polo button up and khakis....

Yeah I catered it's cool in the beginning, simply because u are going to places otherwise wouldn't be invited to. Also another pro is u can sometimes take the food home and even bottles of wine after the event. The cons are long hours and low pay. Your job is basically creating a movie set and then break it down again. The interview shouldn't be hard all you have key is that you are very punctual and you have reliable transportation. Another thing is don't get caught up in the event, they will be a vast amounts of girls there.
