I agree with this. After "I Love College" people made their minds up about him and that was pretty much it. Generally speaking, I think he's a pretty good rapper but I don't think he has anything to say. He lacks the content or the character to be mainstream successful.

But Jeezy's career is winding down... It kinda seems like he signed to a sinking ship. 

Back to Asher Roth though, I still don't know if a dude like Kanye could really resurrect his career. I don't think it's a problem with his beats or his album concepts, I genuinely think the issue is his content/character.

The way I see it there are two types of popular rappers: rappers with entertaining or relatable content and rappers with entertaining or relatable characters. Asher is a good rapper who doesn't have much to say and he's a bit of an average dude which makes him a little boring for the mainstream. I'm not hating on him at all, I just don't think that he has a place in the mainstream market, and more power to him. He should just stick to his niche, build a fan base, and do his thing.

ya i think the problem with asher roth becoming mainstream is that no one likes him sad

i guess i could be wrong tho, everyone hated on keef, soulja boy, riff raff, etc and now theyre making it,
but then again, theyre all interesting and doing things somewhat new/creative whereas roth pretty much sounds like a college kid imitating"real" "lyrical" rappers from the 90's in a pretty mediocre way :/
