i know a dude who got $400,000 put in his bank account by accident. he argued with them and told them to take it back. they said they couldn't and already had meetings on it and whatnot. the money was his, end of story. the bank actually did end up taking it back, but only upon his further insistence.
i seriously doubt you'll get to keep this 5k, assuming it's a true story.
