I get what you mean, but in this country (for the most part), no matter where you live you're blessed. We live in a country where we have all we need and as a result of our surplus of goods and luxuries, we make up bullshit reasons to be fearful and anxious. This girl is an example of a society that is obsessed with narcissism and status. Most people that use social media are morons, and I'd bet a rack that this girl was just another immature idiot seeking attention. I just can't feel sorry remotely for this girl. All i'm saying is, we live in a country where despite how well most people have it, the people really in trouble are constantly ignored by mainstream media.
We got hundreds of non-white people dying from violence and other serious issues, but ONE white girl kills herself and suddenly everyone is sad and concerned. Too often we are selective about which deaths matter more, and more often than not, we're more concerned about the well-off and white people than those whose complexion is a bit darker.
We have an epidemic of cancer, murder, and ignorance, all I'm saying is: who gives a fuck about some corny white girl?
i agree with everything you said.
BUT at the same time we have to think about how a sexist patriarchal society played a part in this girl's death. and we can't just think of it as a bullying issue, it's really a sexual abuse of a minor issue. which makes it way more fucked up.
she felt the pressure to be "sexy" nd desirable at such a young age which says a lot more about what we're telling young girls how to act and what to want than anything about her. just take one look at tumblr bitches to see this point.
and if we thikn about the sexual abuse aspect, imagine what it feels like to be involved in child pornography and get no sympathy from anybody and be blamed for it.
so she made one mistake because of societal pressures and then has to go through sexual abuse as a minor...thats fucked up.
"I'd bet a rack that this girl was just another immature idiot seeking attention"
she was man... and thats not her fault.
