Has anyone gone and notice an actual difference in how they approach life? I feel like I need to go but I don't want to if its a waste of time. Inb4trolls

Therapists are a waste of money unless you have mental or marital issues.

The best things to change your perspective are your own experiences. Naturally, that means you need to experience them first. Branch out. Pick up a new hobby. Go work out. Study a new religion, not to convert, but just to learn something new. Become a Renaissance Man.

What kind of therapy? I used to be mad skeptical of holistic therapy but at the advice of my doctor, I started meditating as a form of stress management a few months back and shit works. I meditate using basic breathing techniques for a couple of minutes twice a day and I sleep better and feel better in general.

I'd highly recommend this audio book, Dr Andrew Weil is a g cool

One could argue that all the things you've suggested are all forms of therapies.

Anything that will help me clear my head and get over depression. Someone suggested Meditation to me before and I was kinda skeptical.

I'm just speaking from experience. By "mental" I don't mean just illness. But if you're looking for some guidance on how to get out of a rut or a new approach, I think there are much more effective and less expensive options.

He said "to go", so it can be assumed he meant going to a therapist.

Sure, by the definition they could be considered therapies but getting into semantics is asinine.

Are you medically depressed? Or are you down about something? Talk to a professional if you really think so.

Meditation can help if you really try to take the leap and just DO it.

Might be a one-off slump, I got diagnosed with a one-off acute anxiety issue and took one short term of meds now I'm great again.

Two of my friends have gone but it was more like rehab from what I can tell from how they explained it. One came back a completely different person and was back to his normal self in a couple months. Another just got back and is the same person but has his priorities. Who knows if that will last though.

honestly, I haven't been to a therapist, but I could tell you from personal experience that talking about your problems is better than not talking about them. if you're in a position to better yourself then I don't see why you shouldn't.

I had taken the words out of his mouth and filled it with fart.
