Put in ~3400 into an oil company I was reading about, and overnight I had gained around ~2,500. I just know the total when I ended up selling was 5,320~5,400. That's really the only stocks shit I've dipped into. The best way to make money off this is too buy into companies that are new and just startng out but you see promising futures. Doing this you're able to double/triple/quadruple your investment.

If you're really serious I'd go to your bank and talk to an investment consultant or someone similar. They'll give you a good idea on what to expect when you invest as well as advice on what to invest in so it works best with what you're trying to get out of your investment.

Also, if you have a university/college near you with a business department, talk to them. I know a lot of the ones in my area and a lot of the ones my friends go to have investment clubs. They'll invest your money and 9/10 times it's pretty damn successful.

I haven't started, but I'm reading a book on it now. I would strongly advise you not to buy into that whole newsletter scam where you follow a guys picks. Lenny Dykstra tried to pull that shit on people and he's bankrupt now.

Feel bad for you, bruh.

Was on a few banks' trading desks this summer; a lot of them are taking huge losses.

im into it a bit, i know the game and i make huge percentage gains extremely fast, but not enough money to play with.
I'm not here to promote anything but here is great example. could have made so much more but i could only afford 100 shares.

Good suggestion.

I should've bought TGT earlier this year. It's been doing pretty well over the last few months.

I actually just got into the stock market, just because I knew with the iPhone 5 being released their stock was going to shoot up, so I bought a few shares a couple weeks ago. Hopefully it will rise a little more when they offically release the phone and not just pre-orders.

OP you should consider sports investments my nigga (aka sports betting)

Although it isn't investing in a technical sense, if you apply the same principles of investing into tracking teams and things like that, you can make a lot of money depending on how well you pick nahmean?
September 17, 2012 @ 17:29:00
OP your gonna be disappointed if you think you're gonna make 900 a week day/swing trading as a beginner. 90%+ failure rate for new traders, its tough but not impossible to make consistent money. Try paper trading for a few years and then when you gain consistency you can open a live account with that 10k. If you jump in and start trading real money as a beginner you're gonna be disappointed when you blow your account.

invested in tha streets ya dig?

LMAO at thinking you can make 900 a week with a base of 10k in the stock market, you obviously do not know anything about stocks and should not waste your money

Even if he is, he's smart to be asking. Nigs should not hate and give him advice.

Some people do make a large portion of money off day trading, but the people who are successful in doing so have been investing for years, and aren't just starting with 10k and blindly following some dude who has his own news letter...

Ya'll are ahead of the game on me. I needa catch up. I only got basic stuff poppin. I'm afraid of risk. And I'm a super procrastinator. If I woulda taken my advice like 20x I woulda made a good deal of money. I hope this thread stays poppin.

I'm also planning on getting my series 7 early next year, so I might even be able to contribute some tips in the near future.

Smart man.

I'd hold AAPL, though. Keep that shit long.
September 17, 2012 @ 19:14:49
Yeah, i'm trying my best to predict what's going to happen but at this point I think it's just going to keep increasing.
September 17, 2012 @ 19:25:32
^ AAPL is biding time with their mini-iPad release. Don't see how they could make it cheaper and make sense, what with the new iPod Touch price.
