I went to college at 18 (Aug 2009), dropped out 1 year later and moved to London for 6 months. Went back to my parents in January 2011 and I've been trying to get my shit together ever since. Like you said, times are tough and where I'm at now is a shitty little town so it's really tough to get a job. But I've managed to make a few bucks and in 2 weeks I'm off to Stockholm for good.

I've done it twice since I had first moved out at 19, once for 3 months, and once for a year. It wasn't the worst as my mum is pretty chill and we've gotten along famously since I had originally moved out.

I moved back home for my senior year of college and commuted. I knew the economy was gonna be rough when I graduated and I wanted to save as much as I could. No shame in doing it so long as you have your priorities straight. I'm salary now with my own place, but it's been a road to get here.

21 now. My family owns a duplex. Parents live on the lower level, and I have the upper floor all to myself. My older sister and I used to share the top floor for like the last 7 or 8 years, but she moved out with her fiance about 2 years ago, and now it's all mines. 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, balcony, kitchen, huge living room, everything I need. They still make me pay some type of rent and my share of bills (phone/internet/cable) since they should be renting it out to someone else and try to make some money off of it. Makes no sense to really move out yet for me since my situation is set up pretty nice.

Graduated high school a few years ago, applied to schools, got into all of them, but then ended up just going to Community College to save some cash. In my sophmore year now, full-time student and work 25-35 hours a week. I still live with my parents, not really embarrased, I have no debt right now and I basically have just as many credits as my friends who left for college, but they're already thousands of dollars in debt.

In my eyes, the way I see it is if you're actually being proactive and doing something, and still living at home, it's ok. But if you're 20+, no job (not looking for a job), not in school, then that shit is just sad.

worked at a benugo café/resturant inside the V&A museum. But the salary was/is really shitty. And you gotta work your ass off at that specific spot for £6.50/hour. My co-workers were mad chill though. We used to smoke before and after work, hit up a pub or whatever. I'd catch some of the polacks taking bumps every now and then lol. So I stuck around. Got paid every Friday too so I was never broke on a weekend. But I'm sure you can find something better. Try moving over-seas for a few months at least!
