Not the smartest way to be "Robin Hood." I dont' think they did it as a gesture of charity. More like a gesture in badassery which draws attention and will likely get them caught. Smart enough to perform a bank robbery. Not smart enough to avoid getting caught.

These idiots throwing money out in the ghetto caused them to get stuck in traffic that they created, which led to their arrests. They weren't trying to take from the rich to give to the poor, they were trying to get people to run into the street so they could block the cops. Not gonna say it wasn't a good idea but they kept driving around in circles in the same area, causing the traffic backup.
