i dont normally fall asleep till 4. but heres what i do to sleep early. turn off the phone. computer. lights. any other distraction. wear something covering your eyes. if you want pee/shit before bed. helps.

I used to be like that too, but I would rather not fall asleep in class, than watch videos on my phone for 3 hours. Just don't bring any electronics to bed, and you'll be fine.

Honestly, don't fuck with medication for sleeping. It'll mess with your life.
I've tried it all. I've been an insomniac since I was like 14 or so. (21 now). I've been on medication since I was like 15 and stopped taking it for like a little over a year now. Shit can make you depressed, fuck with your circadian rhythms, fatigue, etc.
Try to find the actual roots of your problem. It could be something psychological, or it could actually be something physical in which you should see a doctor for some type of medication, or maybe you should actually try to fix your sleep schedule. You may not be going to sleep till 1am, but think, are you resting in between the day and taking naps? That can fuck you up as well. Also diet is can be messing you up.
This problem has been coming back to haunt me recently also. I've probably slept a total hour each day for the last 2/3 weeks. So I know what you're going through. Probably worse.

turn everything off and make sure your room is pitch black... dont matter if you're sleepy or not.. just lay down in the dark.. breath deep and close your eyes.. eventually you should maybe be able to fall asleep.

sometimes youre probably just doing too much and are way distracted. if all the lights, electronics, sounds and whatever is off... you'll be able to just stop... i mean, you cant keep thinking to yourself forever right?

cherries have high amounts natural melatonin in them and that helps you sleep. snack on that maybe an hour before you want to sleep and feel yourself get sleepy.

bananas do too..

i'd like to say maybe eat an avocado? or half.. since it's kinda fatty and i get sleepy from food comas :3
