I made a thread on Macs and nigga going hard on the fanboyism. My friend just got a mac and he says they're perfect for him size, weight, memory but I wan't a 15 inches and it cost about 1.5k and that's a bit much for a laptop.

That's a Chromebook, why in the fuck would someone buy that for college?

http://www.maingear.com/custom/computers/custom-built-laptops.php
Maingear has an option for anyone/everyone. MBP specs for a fraction of the cost. No bloatware. Dualboot Ubuntu alongside W7. Use W7 for Adobe and games. Use Ubuntu for browsing, downloading, and all the other shit that will wreck a Windows laptop.

I have an HP, got it right before I started school. Works really well.

lmao. my boy got a samsung laptop from best buy freshman year and now going into our junior year it's shit and he uses a white MacBook now. And he knows what he's doing. He's a network admin/ tech support at my school making close to $20 an hour 40 hours a week.

any windows laptop = if you can take care of it/on a budget
macbook = if you want something that will mostly likely last longer and have a wider budget

I don't have a degree in IT and I turned a friend's Samsung Chronos into a reliable beast of a laptop just by reformatting it and doing a clean W7 install. He came from using a Mac too. All of my computer savvy friends have Windows computers. My hipster friends that could never setup a simple home network have Macs and overpriced Apple accessories. The older people I know with computer related businesses use Linux distros.

Open source for life. Fuck your closed ecosystem overpriced garbage. Macs are made from other companies parts, using purchased technology. Apple is slimy as fuck and would rather boost its sales with slick imagery and marketing and frivolous patent suits against companies that supply them components than actually innovate.
