Folks come into Goodwill with vouchers for free clothes, they grab 90% adult clothes and the remainder for their kids. They'll second guess every kids' item, which by the way are much cheaper than adults. They'll remove 5-6 $2 tees their kid picked out, and keep 4-5 of their own $6 shirts. It's disgusting. I like when the vouchers specify 'Children's Clothes' so that I can tell them I can/will only let them have children's clothes. They get really uppity considering their situation too.

Being on social assistance is nothing to brag about, or promote on HB. It's not something to be ashamed of either, given that you actually require it and have full intentions of getting off it it.

This is true. My first statement might have been a little harsh. I do see families who really do use it because of their situation, but I still feel a majority of the people who have it, abuse it and really don't need it. If you have expendable money for cigs, lottery, etc I personally feel you shouldn't have to be on food stamps.

I got an EBT for being a grad student, free $200 a month idgaf. Buy myself all types of food and milkshakes from UDF and muscle milk for free basically.

All I gotta do is "attend class" and pass all of my classes.

I wouldn't call it a low income area, but I wouldn't call it an upper class are either. And I'm not really talking about like a shit ton of people coming in and using EBT or Food Stamps, it's usually the same 10-ish people. Dude always comes in buys every candy bar there is, then puts a platic bag full of change on the counter and is like "lemme get a pack of reds and then som tickets too, I think theres like 12 dollars worth of change". Shit like that really pisses me off.

where do you work? sounds like an awful place and not career oriented.

I just work at a local market in my area. And it really isn't a career oriented place, because I'm not looking to make a career of it. I work there to pay for school. And I made it seem way worse than it really is I guess. Like I said eariler theres only about 10 people who come in and (to me) abuse the EBT/Food Stamps system. The rest of the people I interact with are really nice, alot of regulars and shit, it isn't a bad place to work for a while, but it would be if you were a 40 some year old and were looking to make a career of it
