You could hunt down and save up for some some real exclusive shit (like a limited edition New Balance drop or some obscure watch) that 199 people will look at and not know shit about it. The 200th person however, will be someone like you that recognises that shit instantly and immediately respects either the grind you must've put in to acquire that piece or will respect you straight up for knowing about that particular product.

Whilst it isn't the sole reason for us all buying expensive shit, that lil ounce of respect from niggas (or bitches) in the know is priceless.

1. I don't want my nice clothes getting dog hair all over them.
2. I don't want to spill food, drink, or get them greasy from food I eat at home
3. I don't want my shit getting wrinkled if I'm just laying on my bed or sitting on the couch all day.

I'm doing all that so my clothes are clean when I NEED them. I wear basketball shorts at home and that's it b. I don't need those basketball shorts unless I'm playing ball. I don't need to wear a hat, buttondown shirt, pants, or anything when I'm at home. I need my clothes for when I go out, not for when I'm at home.

Bet you I wouldn't want to be sitting in dog hair if I was at Scarlett's house. Bet you I wouldn't even wanna have clothes on if I was over that bitch's house

Do we really need it?
Yes. We wear what we want that makes us feel good and is comfortable. If we didn't, movie stars would go to the red carpart looking they way they do, no one would dress the way the do at a special event if they didn't need a good outfit to either match their personality or make them feel good.

About that insecurity crap... No, peices of cloth and one's mind state are two different things. No one's perfect but we all strive to be the best way we know how. For some, that would be buying expensive clothes.

Brand names just come with the fact that you look good.
You could wear everything the GAP and still look good.
I feel that more expensive brands generally look better.
And I never wear clothing for the logo (IE: big OBEY tees.)
