i dont get it though.. is this like, old footage of pac that they converted/edited? or is this a complete CGI recreation of the man? and how did they have him say "coachella"?

this is opening pandora's box. i mean in the future, we can have full concerts where the performer doesn't even have to show up. odd future can play sold out shows in 10 cities at the same time while the real tyler the creator masturbates to cartoon network in his bedroom.

and if theyre completely recreating people through CG, that means every single musical act, ever, can make money through shows again and again.

what? you wanna see young michael jackson dance battle chris brown while biggie raps over a beat conducted by mozart? pay up and you got it.

its cool. real cool. and the nerd part of me thinks its awesome. but part of me thinks this is just wrong.

This was pretty nice, would have been more impressive if it were a 360 hologram, but small steps.

it wasn't a true hologram by any means, but still very cool and creative though.

but are you really amazed they could recreate the likeness of someone using CGI? where have you been?

i'm not amazed at the ability to recreate someone's likeness using CGI. i'm amazed that you can use that CGI likeness however you want to sell tickets/make money.

i'm not sure if this is actually footage of a pac performance. i mean, they'd have had to film it perfectly, with head on shots and nothing/nobody walking in front of him.

and how did they get 2pac to address coachella by name? didn't the festival start after he died? where did they get him saying that?

you people asking how they got him to say Coachella are stupid haha. Obviously they had someone imitate his voice and probably pitch corrected it to make it more accurate.

^ exactly. If they're gonna have people imitate his voice and recreate him digitally, what's to stop them from putting 2pac in drag and play Raj's gay boyfriend in next week's episode of the big bang theory? Or maybe he should do some geico commercials.

Yeah but would every dead celebrity have relatives that respectful? I mean what if a celebrity dies and happens to have scumbag family who want to/need to make money. Where's the line?

I guess it just depends how desperate the family is to make a dime. You have to figure 2pac's estate is still making a lot of money every year.
