Unintentional hipster. Knew about Amy Winehouse and Adele before they blew up. Listened to dubstep before it blew up. SB's. I knew about the Hundreds when it was just a crappy blog. Action Bronson. Back when I was a youngling I knew about Eminem before he got signed to Dre. I used to bump 5 star generals before I knew he was white. Knew about Big Pun before he hit the radio. Knew about Canibus before he had a deal. I could prolly go on, but it's never been something that I really went out of my way to do. It's just, when I like things, I dig. When I dig, I find things before others. That's all. Early adopter I suppose.

Ha i remember when I was a freshman in college, i was in this art class with a huge hipster dude, he was really into Justice and similar shit, he asked me what i listened to, i told him "i've been listening to a lot of dubstep lately". he was like "wtf is dubSTEP, there's dub music, not dubstep. I'm really into music and i've never heard of that I think you just made it up". I was like "uhhh ok". Then sophomore year I gave a presentation to my german class (we had to give a 10 minute presentation on whatever we wanted) and I told them dubstep was going to blow up.

dubstep has run its course with me. i still listen to burial and stuff but the only feeling i have toward artists like skrillex is a sort of frantic indifference. i can honestly say i've never listened to one of his songs by choice.

Was a Huge Drake fan before he blew the fuck up.. 07 08 RFI and comeback season era. Being that he was from Degrassi I had doubts he could really make it. But then dude dropped SFG and became a star.

Also knew Kreayshawn before she started rapping.

I used to DJ, so I followed A-Trak heavily back in the glory days (what they were to me) from like early 2000's to now. Back in his DMC days when he was still doing 2 and 6 minute routines, battling other DJs and shit. Then Kanye put him as his DJ around 05' I remember, and he blew up from there with Fool's Gold. And with that, came The Cool Kids, KiD CuDi (Yes, A-Trak found Cudi, and released Day N' Night in like late 2007), Kid Sister, etc. I've fucked with all of them before any of them dropped a real mixtape, it was just all songs from Myspace. I still follow A-Trak now, but it's not the same as it used to be with him, which is good I guess.
I used to blast The Pack all the time back in high school, and still do it every once in a while when I want to get Hyphy.
Theophilus London, thanks to HB posting him on the front page all the time and then giving him his own blog on the site.
Chester French, a year before their album and mixtape dropped, like spring 2008.
