Social media is actually deteriorating peoples ability to communicate.
I accepted too many of the wrong people on fb, mostly kids I guess the it got ugly, and the deleting in masses process is too annoying. I never liked fb anyway, because it's so fucking stupid. "Poke"? That's some 5th grade shit right there. I don't want to glorify twitter or anything, but I recently moved there and it's alright. There's not as much bullshit, as a blackberry app, and I can now monitor who I'm accepting/adding and go on from time to time to read funny shit, etc.
I'd say I'm enjoying it, but it' still the same thing when people use it that way. FB became myspace, and ultimately everything will become myspace.

Our generation is attracted to things that consume our time. Facebook and twitter are websites we can go on for hours on end and accomplish absolutely nothing in that amount of time. I've noticed that facebook will only rot your mind if you let it. Everything is good in moderation so to speak.dang read the current generation like a book. you should invent something too and make millions
