Our generation is attracted to things that consume our time. Facebook and twitter are websites we can go on for hours on end and accomplish absolutely nothing in that amount of time. I've noticed that facebook will only rot your mind if you let it. Everything is good in moderation so to speak.

Facebook used to be pointless, but I went on a huge deleting spree and now the only people I am friends with are interested in my life, and I am interested in theirs. Facebook stays relevant that way and doesnt get boring

I'll tell you what's the point of twitter. I'm in NY,I like fashion. I follow some people that talk about fashion. They get to know me through twitter. I get invited to fashion events. I go. I meet these people,and get a leg into this industry. Does no one else know how to use resources?

seriously though, narcissism? what the hell are you talking about facebook allows people to share pictures, events, messages seamlessly and stores them for future reference. if you dont want other people seeing your shit you can simply make it so. its really not that complicated. yall dont have to overthink it and make it about some larger social or personal issue someone may have when in reality it allows people to connect outside of work/school and share ideas, pictures, memories etc... if its all about narcissism or stalking like some of you are implying then why would adults become increasingly more active on facebook? surely your parents/uncles and aunts arent on facebook because they're narcissistic or trying to stalk someone. its because theyre trying to reconnect with people they once knew and facebook allows us to do the same and maintain connections we already have. thats going really deep into it but im just tired of people trying to critique social networking and trivializing it while doing it on the same platform.
