Where's the missing Dolla? Can you figure this out?

November 23, 2011 @ 16:12:00

I have no idea...asians come through on this one
November 23, 2011 @ 16:19:25
You already gave them each $1 so that's why you owe them each $49. $49 + $49 = $98 + ($1 + $1) = $100. There is no missing $1, you have the extra $1 you kept.

BOW. ON. A. BITCH.

You cannot add the the 1 to 98 because the 1 is inside the 98. The rest of the 98, 97, is paid for the shirt Adding them up is what the author of this riddle wants you to do.

Tl;DR or too busy worrying about fit pics:

98- the $1 he already saved= $97. smh you niggas should be able to relate to this. buying a $97 shirt is the epitome of HB.
November 23, 2011 @ 18:06:11
Fuck I thought this was the bellhop problem but I have now revised it to fit this problem. I am your savior
November 23, 2011 @ 18:07:20
wait wtf nvm. owing 49 back to each person has nothing to do with how much money is still in your pocket. think about it. whoever wrote out that problem is retarded son. let's say he owed them both back the entire 3 bucks. that means each person got back 1.50. so he would still owe them 48.50 each. 48.50 times 2 is 97 which was the price of the shirt, leaving him 3 bucks in his pocket. fuck son this is why our economy is fucked. i bet this problem was written by the government. oh and there is no sense in him adding that extra dollar in his pocket into the equation.

The math is irrelevant.

November 23, 2011 @ 18:59:28
cuz if he borrowed 50 from each.. that's 100. 100 - 97 = 3. 1 for mom, 1 for dad, 1 for him. kay. leaves him with 97... divided by 2 is 48.50.
48.50 + (the dollar given to mom/dad) is 49.50 each.....

49.50 X 2 = 99...

and i havent even included his dollar yet.. so that makes 100.

if you add up the amount you owe and the amount you have.. shouldn't the amounts you owe be negative ? It's -49 + -49 = - 98 + 1 = -97, which is the amount you bought the shirt for
November 23, 2011 @ 19:46:22
that whole second half of the equation is all kinds of retarded.

If you just throw that part out, there is no missing dollar. You owe your parents 100 dollars. You bought the shirt for 97. You have 3 dollars change. There is no missing dollar. 97+3=100

First of all, WHO THE FUCK BUYS A 97 DOLLAR SHIRT???

Anyways, you owe: $50 + $50. You have 3 Dollars. you give both a dollar.

You now owe $49 + $49.

You have a dollar.

1. If you give it back, you now owe total of 97 dollars.

2. If you keep the dollar, you owe 98 dollar because you already gave back 2 dollar.

3. Should you keep 3 dollars, you owe a 100.

Conclusion: You're a dumbass for buying a 97 dollar t-shirt with your parents money and cannot figure this shit out.

The equation $49 + $49 = $98 + Your $1 = $99 is wrong.
The " + Your $1" should NOT be there, instead, it should be "- Your $1" if you gave it back, which should yield $97 in debt, 3 dollars you gave back.

i feel smart
