yup you can never go wrong with a chocolate, girl, or element. i used to skate like 8 years ago but for as long as i remember, these have always been legit brands. fuck a beginner skateboard, just get it right the first time. if you become that involved with it then it wouldn't hurt to cough up another 50+ for a deck in the future

I personally don't see why you just won't get a walmart one. You don't seem like you'll be skating for too long..... Actually, just support someone local.

Fun fact: according to Josh Kalis, 70% of board sales in the industry are from local shops. Pro brands are hurting like a muhfukka right now.
