<p>why should that idiot blame wall street? He hasnt had the opportunity to purchase a house through a mortgage than have that house drop its value in HALF and still have to pay the mortgage based on the original higher value (aint that a bitch) than be downsized by corporate america due to a recession that could have been a depression if old Obama didnt bail everyone out. Also that cunt probally doesnt have a wife and or kids to support SOLELY based upon their income. That sign is absolutely ridiculous and has no real basis on the economic problems facing the country today. However thinking and actions like his would have GREATLY minimized ......

So if somebody purchases a house and it doubles in value, the mortgage isnt based on the new value right? Can't have things both ways. Next, if you don't have the money to support a family then why the fuck are you having kids?

This whole situation on student debt is just a reigniton of the housing problems. Policymakers see a good (education=home ownership) and set up policy that undermines the economics behind them. We set up that any person can be loaned large amounts of money for school then act amazed when a large amount of people have debt as a result. How about teaching any sort of basic economics to kids before they get out of high school so they realize what they're taking on. But no, instead we've got the same people who had this system bite them in the ass, now on the streets asking for more of what hurt them: government intrusion without the economic realty.

I recognize that there is a problem but don't agree with the OWS approach. OWS is a great idea unfortunately just like anything the left does is horribly managed. logistics and giving catchy meaningful names is something the right always dominates. A liberal tea party like movement would have been/would be much more productive. The mission/message of the OWS movement is getting devalued more and more every day. Guns are being found and a girl has been raped....

Its sad.

If its a revolution they are after, then they will need to be willing to die for it, and know that there will be losses.

how about not inflating the cost of education to astronomical amounts.

student loan debt isn't really the issue, people have been doing this and repaying loans for decades. the student loan issue is just recently becoming a problem due to the contraction of the job market caused by the economic situation exacerbated by many instances of banking and corporate finance fraud.

The mortgages only existed because under qualified people with terrible credit were getting approved for houses in no way they could afford. Yes you can blame institutions like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but the fact is when you are making a decision in life as big as buying a house, do some due diligence...these people are blaming wall street when the in the big picture the chain of events started with themselves. if you know your cant afford the damn house dont be greedy and go after the mortgage. and Don't say oooo but wall st was the one selling toxic secruities....yes true wall st played a big role, but you are missing the point.

^ However those private bankers sold those credits to foreign countries like China, Japan, Germany, and England therefore RACKING UP THE ENORMOUS NATIONAL DEBT FOR OUR INNOCENT FUTURE GENERATIONS.

These are greedy pigs who are only looking after the short private gain by sacrificing the lives of others for the LONG ASS TIME.

Most importantly enslaved by the debt... Is that what you want to leave for your sons & daughters? I wouldn't think so.

Isn't whoever they sold those credits too or whatever they do with their money their business? Are we looking to tell business how to spend its money now?
They are greedy they are preying on the un/misinformed and doing so for record profits... but what part of this isn't legal? or capitalist?
An informed and active consumer is the answer to these practices. Not Washington...
ethics in business are becoming a thing of the past.

Did you even read what I wrote? There is so much wrong with your post it pains me, let alone it doesn't even counter what I said.

Private Bankers have nothing to do with selling "credits" to foreign countries. Private bankers manage rich people's money. They invest client's wealth into stocks, bonds and other investment vehicles. They were not selling shit to foreign countries.

Do you even know where THE ENORMOUS NATIONAL DEBT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS come from? Do you really think the 15 or whatever trillion dollars in debt was caused by wall street banks? Its the fucking Government dude. The Government is the one selling treasuries to foreign countries to overcome budget deficits why? because they thought they need to pump money into the economy to stimulate it and pay social security to your parents and welfare checks to you. yes, lets cut taxes and borrow money to boost the economy.

Learn what is actually going on around you, learn how things work and become educated in why things are the way they are. I don't mind activists agains wall street with a valid argument, but you are just throwing random, wrong assumptions out of your ass.

i agree it is your responsibility to manage your own finances, however the lenders were complicit in the financial collapse by clearly putting ethics aside and allowing people to borrow way more money than they could realistically manage. mortgage lenders and banks knew the loans they were approving were sub-prime, high risk loans and they caused a whole lot of collateral damage. and not only did they know it would fail, they bet on the default as they continued to sell them to other banks & investors before the loan situation got all fubar.

personal responsibility is part of the picture, but there's also a whole bunch of financially sound people that also saw their lives flushed down the shitter. the lenders and banks enabled the risky behavior that contributed to the collapse so they have to take a good portion of the blame imo.

I think it is. You have so many people who're a part of these protests yet they have no idea what they're protesting for. Or for example, if they are supporting the Liberals, they fail to understand it doesnt matter whether you support the liberals or the conservatives. Both parties are working together while the laymen are arguing about who's right.

Bank of America are going to drop their plan to charge people a fee to use their debit cards. - I haven't heard if other banks will do the same.

Frank Miller (300, Sin City) with the ether.

&quot;Everybody's been too damn polite about this nonsense:
The &quot;Occupy&quot; movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. &quot;Occupy&quot; is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

&quot;Occupy&quot; is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the &quot;movement&quot; &acirc;
