Occupy Wall Street

LOL occupy portland is just a clusterfuck. No one has a clear point down here and the only ones that do are covered by the hipster and attention seeking people by "trying" to wreck shit and pump up the crowd. Nigga this aint no HS pep rally
October 08, 2011 @ 09:14:53
Honestly I think it’s a shame your ragging on those protesters. They have inspired people of all ages in many states to protest, and even gained admiration overseas. You think your smarter than you are, and I think you have some growing up to do, because you obviously know nothing about what’s going on today. Your advocating a failing system, get over it lol.

just had to point out the irony here. you calling him out on his intelligence while you misspell the word "your" three fucking times. i legitimately lol'd. it's "you're" smart guy.
October 08, 2011 @ 10:16:41
^ the grammar nazi alert.

US has been traditionally shy when it comes to protesting [After 60s nothing major happened] compare to other countries. I think what this generation [ppl in 30s as well] is doing is truly inspiring.

I believe the reason why there was no major riot is partly because everyone is just too busy looking after themselves but with such a bad economy like this along with the high unemployment rate.

People starting to feel other people's struggles and what they're going through thats what keeping us united imo.

I walked by Occupy Seattle yesterday. There was some guy walking around with a sign about how high unemployment is and simultaneously making fun of shoppers in the area for spending money and buying things... smh

There was also a fleet of probably 20-30 bike cops watching them from across the street lol.

I don't understand this picture, honest question, why do people think this?
October 10, 2011 @ 09:06:46
^ oh that's easy bro. Let me help u out with that.

Get on google n search "the amount of taxes General Electric has paid in 2010"

it's THAT simple.
FYI, GE is at least 1 of the top 5 biggest employers in America. Yeeah, alot of americans work for them.

* Big corporations and their tax cheat.

this kinda thinkin is what got corporations to be seen as people in the first place. They need to pay taxes but we shouldnt put them in the "person" arena.

This statistic is very misleading. Many corporations aren't taxed as corporations because the employees are taxed instead, and those who receive dividends are taxed. This is how most coprorations are run. It makes the statement "68% of corporations don't pay taxes" true, but misleading, because that corporations employees do. It's called an S Coproration, the other main choice being a C Coproration.

Which brings us to our conclusion. Yes, it is true that nearly two-thirds of US corporations do not pay the federal corporate income tax. This is because nearly two-thirds of US corporations end up paying the personal income tax on profits, not the corporate one.
This may or may not be a good idea, that’s for another time. But good idea or not, it’s certainly very different indeed from the way the true fact seems to get used, which is as evidence of widespread tax dodging by corporations. That’s just horribly misleading: tantamount to lying when used so by those who do know better.

What the layperson doesn’t often understand is why most businesses aren’t taxed. A lot of it comes down to the double taxation of corporate profits. If you recall from Business Entities 101, a corporation is a separate legal and taxable entity. This means that corporate profits are taxed at the corporate level, and when disbursed to business owners or shareholders in the form of dividends, are taxed again at the personal level. Clearly, business owners want to avoid having their profits taxed twice, so they will structure the profits to be paid out in a way that minimizes or eliminates this. One common method of doing this is to shift the corporate profits into salaries as opposed to being paid out in dividends. The money is still being taxed, but just at the personal level.

"Occupy Wall Street Affiliated With Professional Revolutionary Organization OTPOR (CIA)"

The guy in the above video is Ivan Marovic. That name probably doesn’t mean much to you, because I know it didn’t mean much to me until I did some further digging. It turns out that Mr. Marovic is the co-founder of Otpor!. Otpor! was a key organization in the Serbian Wars in the 1990s and was also an influence in the Egypt uprisings. If you believe the below documentary then Otpor! is a group of professional revolutionaries.
This is information about Ivan Marovic from Source Watch.org
Ivan Marovic, Serbia and Montenegro
“Along with a group of other Serbian student leaders, Marovic formed the OTPOR (“Resistance”) movement in 1998. OTPOR used popular protest and peaceful provocation to build anti-Milosevic support in the 1999-2000 period. Although OTPOR started by mobilizing young people, it quickly expanded into a mass movement with members from all sectors of society. As one of the most visible leaders of OTPOR, Marovic best represented the common youth of Serbia and organized rallies and marches in the lead-up to the September 2000 election that ousted the Milosevic regime. After 2000, OTPOR focused on building democratic society in Serbia and opposing corruption. OTPOR has become a model for resistance movements in other countries, including Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus and Albania.”
The thing they will not tell you about Mr. Marovic and his good friend Srdja Popovic, who were the leaders of OTPOR, is that that organization and they were all sponsored by the CIA. Their handler was William Montgomery, who was coordinating their actions from the CIA Headquarters for Southern Europe in Budapest, Hungary. Wm. Montgomery later became U. S. Ambassador in Post Milosevic Serbia.

Funny thing, I was talking with my former AI from high school, these people are protesting for money but when we go to war you don't see a big rally like this.

Bunch of greedy hippies.

What a dumb little girl. Just because you think you want to go to college doesn't mean you'll get in in 5 years. Just because you go to college and get a degree doesn't mean you'll be able to get a job in your field. Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you'll ever be able to get a job.

I know too many people that racked up tens of thousands of dollars getting degrees and graduating with great GPAs who can't even find jobs other than being a manager at Domino's. She sounds like a spoiled little bitch and I'll laugh when she flunks out of college after her first year because of her entitlement issues.

A community college is just as good as UCLA in terms of degrees being a dime a dozen nowadays and virtually useless.
