- This is what America is trying to build. a BIGGEST OIL PIPE starting from Alberta, Canada to Texas.
What for? you may ask. well apparently they want to use the tar sands for the oil production which really isn't a great idea.

Obama doesn't have control over that... I don't see the irony. He says he wants to help ease the dependence on oil, but it won't be easy. The way Obama has been calling out the rich I doubt he would be pleased about this. But money is strong.

The proposed Keystone X.L. pipeline would run 1,700 miles through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma on its way to refineries in Texas. It's projected to cost $7 billion and carry an estimated 800,000 barrels of oil a day.

On Friday, the protesters were dealt a blow by the U.S. State Department, which released a report finding the pipeline project will present no significant environmental problems.

A final decision to allow or reject the pipeline will come from Secretary of State Clinton and ultimately President Obama. It's expected by the end of the year.


So yeah Obama does have a right to say no or yes to this.
