It really isnt as much of a party school as people think it is. Back in the late 70s/80s and it was top 10 back in like 05 but there is a lot more to the school then that if you want it to be. Academically it has became better and better over the years and the business schools is also well respected. You will pretty much have totally different experiences depending on what area of campus you live at.

Im about to be a senior this year. Transferred in after my freshman year. UMass is like any other big school so it really is what you make of it. Try not to get stuck in a little clique but dont be that person that just says whaddup to everyone actually get cool with ppl you like.
how do you make friends as a transfer student? I dont get it. Did you already know people when you got to umass and you just became friends with their friends or what?
