Generalization is used in daily life no matter what. Generalization is basically what you claim to be different types of people. Say for example, you saw a group of 13-17 year olds. You would generalize them as teenagers, right?
yes, obviously, if i saw a group of people whom i knew for a fact were 13-17 year olds, i would say they are teenagers, and
@homes, yes, if i knew a man was a man, then yes, i would say that there a few assumptions that could be made lol
however, stating that someone is a "pig" based on occupation, or generalizing about behaviors or qualities of character of people based on certain other backgrounds is not the same thing.
and i do agree with many of your points, i do think police should be held responsible when they are out of line, and i do think it is a shame when police are responsible for injustice or unwarranted violent acts.that type of shit happens in my city too, in fact there was a small race riot in 2001 after an unarmed kid got killed by the cops.he was running away and supposedly reached to pull up his pants and the cop though he was pulling a gun and shot him. shits fucked up
but generalizing a massive group of people as being morally good or bad, as the OP was originally asking, is stupid to me.
